Call for participation: the 14th edition of the Journées de la culture

The Journées de la culture call for participation is now online. It’s time to think about your menu and come up with some mouthwatering activities! Register now!
We have also redesigned our menu. Organizers can now participate in two ways. The activities can be registered on the “Special” or on the “À la carte” menu.

Seminar on Cultural Mediation: the participants’ evident interest confirms the need to have more events dedicated to exchange and advanced training.

a user’s guide
Chrysalis Art, a British organization dedicated to public arts training and development, has produced a practical guide to promote ecological and sustainable public art practices. The document presents the principles of sustainable practice in public art, case studies and an application plan template.

Paysages du Québec :
manuel de bonnes pratiques
Last February the organization Paysages estriens launched a tool to further our understanding of landscape as a form of heritage. The manual includes definition and reflection guidelines, current issues and fact sheets outlining the various characteristics to take into account when undertaking land development and planning projects.

Open Engagement
A conference on socially engaged art,
Portland (Oregon) May 14-17, 2010
An initiative of Portland State University’s Art and Social Practice MFA concentration, this threeday conference presents projects by artists, thinkers and citizens who will reflect on various art and society related issues such as urban planning, sustainable development, the role of the artist, and political conflicts.

Créa awards: Bos wins the Grand prix Créa 2010 and scoops 20 other distinctions
Last March 25, Bos won the Grand prix Créa for its Ronachromatique poster campaign. Bos’ contribution to the Québec advertisement domain was highlighted by the agency’s indisputable success during this evening where it took home 8 grand prizes and won 12 other prizes.

Cultiver la ville : les «semeurs» de la participation culturelle
On the occasion of the Grande Bibliothèque’s 5th anniversary, Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec and Culture Montréal are organizing a study day to evaluate new avenues to promote audience development and stimulate cultural participation.
Several renowned speakers will take part in the discussions, among which, Christophe Girard, Deputy Mayor of Paris and Head of Cultural Affairs, and David Flatley, Executive Director at the Center for Community Arts Partnerships, Columbia College, Chicago.
