Journées de la culture: a winning recipe!
Results of a social movement that keeps on growing
Braving the bad weather, over 210,000 participants turned up at the artist workshops, museums, cultural centres, theatres and libraries to discover different aspects of the arts and culture during the 14 thedition of the Journées de la culture on the last weekend of September. A veritable cultural feast was served up by 3,152 organizations and almost 10,000 artists and cultural workers in 353 municipalities throughout Quebec. >> cont'd |

Culture: a necessary condition for truly sustainable development
Minister Christine St-Pierre, Ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine, affirmed the importance of culture as she kicked off a joint initiative that should lead to Quebec’s adopting the Agenda 21 for culture. The Billy Goat of Notre-Dame
Students’ mascot celebrates the 31st tacon-site, at the Économusée de la lainerie in Saint-Fulgence, in the land of the Ouananiche
During the Journées de la culture 2010, students at École Notre-Dame in Alma, in the Saguenay– Lac‑Saint‑Jean region, created a new mascot: a billy goat made of wool and textile fibres with the help of artist Stéfany Tremblay. The project was to celebrate the installation in Saint-Fulgence of the 31st tacon-site, one of a series of stone sculptures marking a ouananiche-shaped circuit around the region, an initiative of the artists collective Interaction Qui.
