From art practice to social encounter
We are proud to present our book - DVD that looks at two major events of the 10th anniversary of the Journées – an art event, The Convertibles and an international forum under the theme of cultural mediation, La Rencontre.
The texts — by Sylvette Babin, Louis Jacob, Nadine Lizotte, Louise Sicuro — describe experiments and works that were launched by artists, organizations and municipalities and that renewed the relationship between art, artists and their fellow citizens. The DVD explains the process involved in the creation of
The Convertibles and presents excerpts from La Rencontre. |

-
|
Gain more culture in just three days!
This fall's large gathering focuses once more on artists, craftspeople and cultural workers who have prepared more than 2.500 free activities for the occasion. The communication campaign starts at the beginning of September with the help of the media and the contribution of our financial partners: the Government of Quebec, TD Canada Trust and Hydro-Quebec. The programming will also be on-line on September 6th. Pass the information! Good Journées de la culture!

- Become a guide/facilitator aboard the shuttle buses on the island of Montréal, or an information agent at the information booths and surrounding areas.

Municipal Declaration of the Journées de la culture -
|
A participation success!
Our objective to gather 111 cities and municipalities for the 11th edition of the Journées de la culture is largely exceeded! There are now 180 municipalities which joined the Movement, initiated this spring by Culture pour tous in partnership with the network Les Arts et la Ville. The municipalities are invited to adopt a resolution proclaiming Journées of the culture last Friday of September and the two following days of each year.
Join the Movement!
Read the resolution and see the map of the participating municipalities. |
