The Charles-Biddle Award recognizes the exceptional contribution of people who have immigrated to Quebec and whose professional and personal commitment has contributed to the cultural and artistic development of Quebec.
Through their achievements, these men and women are models of success, both in their own fields and for Quebec society as a whole.
The Charles Biddle Award consists of two categories, each accompanied by a $5,000 bursary:
- National and international (an artist whose influence extends beyond the borders of Quebec);
- Regional (an artist who has distinguished himself or herself in Quebec, within their region, city, village, or local community).
For each category, a jury selects three finalists, whose names are revealed in a video highlighting their career and achievements. One person from each category is then crowned winner, and receives a dedicated video portrait, a $5,000 bursary and an original work of art created by a Quebec artist.
All finalists receive an official certificate from the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI).
Prizes and certificates will be awarded in November by the MIFI, in partnership with Culture pour tous, during the Quebec Intercultural Encounters Week.
